Hadith 17521
Hazrat ‘Abbad bin Shurahbil (may Allah be pleased with him), who belonged to Banu Ghubar, says: Once we were afflicted by famine. During that time, I came to Madinah Munawwarah and entered a garden there. I grabbed a cluster (of dates) and began to peel and eat it, and then tied a little in my clothes as well. Coincidentally, the owner of the garden arrived, and upon seeing me, he began to beat me and also snatched away my clothes. I presented myself before the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When he was unaware, you did not inform him, and when he was hungry, you did not feed him. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had my clothes returned to me and ordered for me half a wasq or a full wasq (of food).
