Hadith 17474
حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَعْلَى بْنُ عَطَاءٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي جَابِرُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ بْنِ الْأَسْوَدِ الْعَامِرِيُّ ، عن أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ : شَهِدْتُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَجَّتَهُ ، قَالَ : فَصَلَّيْتُ مَعَهُ صَلَاةَ الْفَجْرِ فِي مَسْجِدِ الْخَيْفِ ، فَلَمَّا قَضَى صَلَاتَهُ إِذَا هُوَ بِرَجُلَيْنِ فِي آخِرِ الْمَسْجِدِ لَمْ يُصَلِّيَا مَعَهُ ، فَقَالَ : " عَلَيَّ بِهِمَا " ، فَأُتِيَ بِهِمَا تُرْعَدُ فَرَائِصُهُمَا ، قَالَ : " مَا مَنَعَكُمَا أَنْ تُصَلِّيَا مَعَنَا ؟ " قَالَا : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، كُنَّا قَدْ صَلَّيْنَا فِي رِحَالِنَا . قَالَ : " فَلَا تَفْعَلَا ، إِذَا صَلَّيْتُمَا فِي رِحَالِكُمَا ، ثُمَّ أَتَيْتُمَا مَسْجِدَ جَمَاعَةٍ ، فَصَلِّيَا مَعَهُمْ ، فَإِنَّهَمَا لَكُمَا نَافِلَةٌ " . وَرُبَّمَا قِيلَ لِهُشَيْمٍ : فَلَمَّا قَضَى صَلَاتَهُ يَحْرِفُ . فَيَقُولُ : يَحْرِفُ عَنْ مَكَانِهِ.
It is narrated from Hazrat Yazid bin Aswad (may Allah be pleased with him) that I participated in the Farewell Pilgrimage with the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). I offered the Fajr prayer with the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) in the Mosque of Khaif. When the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) finished the prayer, he saw that at the end of the mosque there were two men sitting who had not participated in the prayer with him. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "Bring both of them to me." When they were brought, they were trembling with fear. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) asked, "Why did you not pray with us?" They replied, "O Messenger of Allah! (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) we had already prayed in our tents." The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "Do not do so. If you have already prayed in your tents and then you come to the mosque at the time of congregation, then join in the prayer, for this will be counted as a voluntary prayer."
Hadith 17475
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ يَعْلَى بْنِ عَطَاءٍ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ بْنِ الْأَسْوَدِ ، عن أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ : صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْفَجْرَ بِمِنًى ، فَانْحَرَفَ ، فَرَأَى رَجُلَيْنِ مِنْ وَرَاءِ النَّاسِ ، فَدَعَا بِهِمَا ، فَجِيءَ بِهِمَا تَرْعَدُ فَرَائِصُهُمَا ، فَقَالَ : " مَا مَنَعَكُمَا أَنْ تُصَلِّيَا مَعَ النَّاسِ ؟ " فَقَالَا : قَدْ كُنَّا صَلَّيْنَا فِي الرِّحَالِ ، قَالَ : " فَلَا تَفْعَلَا ، إِذَا صَلَّى أَحَدُكُمْ فِي رَحْلِهِ ثُمَّ أَدْرَكَ الصَّلَاةَ مَعَ الْإِمَامِ ، فَلْيُصَلِّهَا مَعَهُ ، فَإِنَّهَا لَهُ نَافِلَةٌ " .

Hadith 17476
حَدَّثَنَا بَهْزٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ ، عَنْ يَعْلَى بْنِ عَطَاءٍ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ بْنِ الْأَسْوَدِ ، عن أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ : حَجَجْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَجَّةَ الْوَدَاعِ ، قَالَ : فَصَلَّى بِنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَلَاةَ الصُّبْحِ أَوْ الْفَجْرِ ، قَالَ : ثُمَّ انْحَرَفَ جَالِسًا ، وَاسْتَقْبَلَ النَّاسَ بِوَجْهِهِ ، فَإِذَا هُوَ بِرَجُلَيْنِ مِنْ وَرَاءِ النَّاسِ لَمْ يُصَلِّيَا مَعَ النَّاسِ ، فَقَالَ : " ائْتُونِي بِهَذَيْنِ الرَّجُلَيْنِ " . قَالَ : فَأُتِيَ بِهِمَا تَرْعَدُ فَرَائِصُهُمَا ، فَقَالَ : " مَا مَنَعَكُمَا أَنْ تُصَلِّيَا مَعَ النَّاسِ ؟ " قَالَا : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، إِنَّا كُنَّا قَدْ صَلَّيْنَا فِي الرِّحَالِ . قَالَ : " فَلَا تَفْعَلَا ، إِذَا صَلَّى أَحَدُكُمْ فِي رَحْلِهِ ، ثُمَّ أَدْرَكَ الصَّلَاةَ مَعَ الْإِمَامِ ، فَلْيُصَلِّهَا مَعَهُ ، فَإِنَّهَا لَهُ نَافِلَةٌ " . قَالَ : فَقَالَ أَحَدُهُمَا : اسْتَغْفِرْ لِي يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ . فَاسْتَغْفَرَ لَهُ ، قَالَ : وَنَهَضَ النَّاسُ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَنَهَضْتُ مَعَهُمْ ، وَأَنَا يَوْمَئِذٍ أَشَبُّ الرِّجَالِ وَأَجْلَدُهُ . قَالَ : فَمَا زِلْتُ أَزْحَمُ النَّاسَ حَتَّى وَصَلْتُ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَأَخَذْتُ بِيَدِهِ فَوَضَعْتُهَا إِمَّا عَلَى وَجْهِي أَوْ صَدْرِي ، قَالَ : فَمَا وَجَدْتُ شَيْئًا أَطْيَبَ وَلَا أَبْرَدَ مِنْ يَدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ . قَالَ : وَهُوَ يَوْمَئِذٍ فِي مَسْجِدِ الْخَيْفِ . .

(peace and blessings be upon him) We had already performed the prayer in our tents." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Do not do so. If you have already performed the prayer in your tents, and then you reach the mosque at the time of congregation, then join in the prayer, for it will be counted as a voluntary prayer." Then one of them said, "O Messenger of Allah! (peace and blessings be upon him) Pray for my forgiveness." So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) prayed for him. Then people began to get up and go towards the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and I also sat with them. At that time, I was a strong young man. Making my way through the crowd, I reached the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and took his blessed hand and began to rub it on my face or chest. I have never seen a hand more fragrant and cooler than the blessed hand of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). At that time, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was in the Mosque of Khaif.
Hadith 17477
حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ حَسَّانَ ، وَشُعْبَةُ ، وَشَرِيكٌ ، عَنْ يَعْلَى بْنِ عَطَاءٍ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ ، عن أَبِيه ِ قَالَ : صَلَّيْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَلَاةَ الْفَجْرِ فِي مَسْجِدِ الْخَيْفِ ، فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ . قَالَ : قَالَ شَرِيكٌ فِي حَدِيثِهِ : فَقَالَ أَحَدُهُمَا : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، اسْتَغْفِرْ لِي . قَالَ : " غَفَرَ اللَّهُ لَكَ " . .
The previous hadith is also narrated through this second chain of transmission.
Hadith 17478
حَدَّثَنَا أَسْوَدُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ ، وَأَبُو النَّضْرِ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، قَالَ : أَبُو النَّضْرِ ، عَنْ يَعْلَى بْنِ عَطَاءٍ ، وَقَالَ : أَسْوَدُ أَخْبَرَنِي يَعْلَى بْنُ عَطَاءٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ جَابِرَ بْنَ يَزِيدَ بْنِ الْأَسْوَدِ السُّوَائِيَّ ، عن أَبِيهِ ، أَنَّهُ صَلَّى مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الصُّبْحَ ، فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ . قَالَ : ثُمَّ ثَارَ النَّاسُ يَأْخُذُونَ بِيَدِهِ يَمْسَحُونَ بِهَا وُجُوهَهُمْ ، قَالَ : فَأَخَذْتُ بِيَدِهِ فَمَسَحْتُ بِهَا وَجْهِي ، فَوَجَدْتُهَا أَبْرَدَ مِنَ الثَّلْجِ ، وَأَطْيَبَ رِيحًا مِنَ الْمِسْكِ.
The previous hadith is also narrated through this second chain. Then one of them said, "O Messenger of Allah! (peace be upon him), please supplicate for forgiveness for me." So the Prophet (peace be upon him) supplicated for him. Then people began to get up and go towards the Prophet (peace be upon him), and I also sat with them. At that time, I was a strong young man. Hadith 17479
