It is narrated regarding Hazrat As'ad bin Zurarah (may Allah be pleased with him), who was one of the leaders (naqib) at the time of the pledge of Aqabah, that he once fell ill. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to visit him and said twice, "The worst corpse is that of the Jews; they could say that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) could not remove the illness of his companion." "I do not possess the power to benefit or harm them, but I can certainly make arrangements for them." Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered, and his head was cauterized twice, but he could not recover and passed away.
