It is narrated from Hazrat Wathilah bin Asqa’ (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Prophet (peace be upon him) came to us and said: “Do you think that I will be the last among you to pass away? Hayyan (may Allah have mercy on him) says that once Hazrat Wathilah (may Allah be pleased with him) called me and said: O Hayyan! Take me to Abu al-Aswad Jurashi... Hadith 16980
It is narrated from Hazrat Wathilah (may Allah be pleased with him) that I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: The greatest slanders are three things: One is that a person slanders his own eyes and says, "I saw such and such in a dream," while he did not see it; the second is that a person slanders his parents and attributes himself to someone other than his father; and the third is that someone says he heard something from me, while he did not hear it from me.

Shaddad says that once I went to Hazrat Wasila (may Allah be pleased with him), and there were some people with him. They began to mention Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him). When they left, Hazrat Wasila (may Allah be pleased with him) said to me, "Shall I not tell you what I saw from the Prophet (peace be upon him)?" I said, "Why not?" He said, "Once I came to Hazrat Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her) to ask about Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him). She informed me that he had gone to the Prophet (peace be upon him). I sat down and waited for him. Meanwhile, the Prophet (peace be upon him) arrived, accompanied by Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him), Hasan (may Allah be pleased with him), and Husain (may Allah be pleased with him), and they were all coming in such a way that each was holding the other's hand. When the Prophet (peace be upon him) entered the house, he called Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) and Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her) near and seated them, and placed Hasan and Husain (may Allah be pleased with them both) on his thighs. Then he covered them all with a cloak and recited this verse: 'Allah only wishes to remove impurity from you, O people of the household, and to purify you thoroughly.' And he said: 'O Allah! These are my household, and the right of my household is greater.'"

Faseelah, a woman, narrates from her father that she asked the Prophet (peace be upon him): "O Messenger of Allah! Is it also considered 'asabiyyah (tribalism) if a person loves his own people?" The Prophet (peace be upon him) replied: "No, 'asabiyyah is that a person helps his people in wrongdoing." Imam Ahmad's son says that he heard from the scholars that Faseelah's father was Hazrat Waathilah (may Allah be pleased with him), and then his father also mentioned this hadith at the end of the narrations of Hazrat Waathilah (may Allah be pleased with him), so I think that this is indeed the hadith of Hazrat Waathilah (may Allah be pleased with him).
