حَدِیث اَبِی جمعَةَ حَبِیبِ بنِ سِبَاع
Hadith of Abu Jum'ah Habib ibn Sibaa'
Hadith 16975
حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ دَاوُدَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ ، أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عَوْفٍ حَدَّثَهُ ، أَنَّ أَبَا جُمُعَةَ حَبِيبَ بْنِ سِبَاعٍ وَكَانَ قَدْ أَدْرَكَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَامَ الْأَحْزَابِ صَلَّى الْمَغْرِبَ ، فَلَمَّا فَرَغَ ، قَالَ : " هَلْ عَلِمَ أَحَدٌ مِنْكُمْ أَنِّي صَلَّيْتُ الْعَصْرَ ؟ " قَالُوا : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ مَا صَلَّيْتَهَا ، فَأَمَرَ الْمُؤَذِّنَ ، فَأَقَامَ الصَّلَاةَ ، فَصَلَّى الْعَصْرَ ، ثُمَّ أَعَادَ الْمَغْرِبَ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Jum'ah Habib bin Saba’ (may Allah be pleased with him), “who met the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him),” that once the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) performed the Maghrib prayer in the year of Ahzab. After finishing the prayer, he said: Does anyone among you know whether I have performed the ‘Asr prayer or not? The people replied: O Messenger of Allah! You have not performed the ‘Asr prayer. So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered the mu’adhdhin, and he gave the iqamah, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) performed the ‘Asr prayer, then repeated the Maghrib prayer.
Hadith 16976
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْمُغِيرَةِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا الْأَوْزَاعِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي أَسِيدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي صَالِحٌ بْنُ جُبَيْر ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو جُمُعَةَ ، قَالَ : تَغَدَّيْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، وَمَعَنَا أَبُو عُبَيْدَةَ بْنُ الْجَرَّاحِ ، قَالَ : فَقَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، هَلْ أَحَدٌ خَيْرٌ مِنَّا ؟ أَسْلَمْنَا مَعَكَ وَجَاهَدْنَا مَعَكَ ، قَالَ : " نَعَمْ ، قَوْمٌ يَكُونُونَ مِنْ بَعْدِكُمْ يُؤْمِنُونَ بِي وَلَمْ يَرَوْنِي "
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Jum'ah (may Allah be pleased with him) that once we were partaking in the morning meal with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and Sayyiduna Abu Ubaidah bin Jarrah (may Allah be pleased with him) was also with us. He said: O Messenger of Allah! Will there be anyone better than us? We accepted Islam at your hand and fought in jihad in your company. He replied: "Yes, there will be a people who will come after you and will believe in me without having seen me."
Hadith 16977
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْمُغِيرَةِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا الْأَوْزَاعِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي أَسِيدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ خَالِدِ بْنِ دُرَيْكٍ ، عَنْ ابْنُ مُحَيْرِيزٍ ، قَالَ : قُلْتُ لِأَبِي جُمُعَةَ رَجُلٍ مِنَ الصَّحَابَةِ : حَدِّثْنَا حَدِيثًا سَمِعْتَهُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : نَعَمْ ، أُحَدِّثُكُمْ حَدِيثًا جَيِّدًا ، تَغَدَّيْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَمَعَنَا أَبُو عُبَيْدَةَ بْنُ الْجَرَّاحِ ، فَقَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، أَحَدٌ خَيْرٌ مِنَّا ، أَسْلَمْنَا مَعَكَ ، وَجَاهَدْنَا مَعَكَ ؟ قَالَ : " نَعَمْ ، قَوْمٌ يَكُونُونَ مِنْ بَعْدِكُمْ يُؤْمِنُونَ بِي وَلَمْ يَرَوْنِي "
Ibn Muhairiz says that I requested Hazrat Abu Jam'ah (may Allah be pleased with him) to narrate to me a hadith which he had heard from the Prophet (peace be upon him). He said: "Alright, I will tell you an excellent hadith. Once, we were partaking in the morning meal with the Prophet (peace be upon him), and Hazrat Abu Ubaidah bin Jarrah (may Allah be pleased with him) was also with us. He said, 'O Messenger of Allah! Will there be anyone better than us? We accepted Islam at your hand and performed jihad in your company.' The Prophet (peace be upon him) replied: 'Yes! There will be a people who will come after you and will believe in me without having seen me.'"
