حَدِیث سَلَمَةَ بنِ نفَیل السَّكونِیِّ
Hadith of Salamah ibn Nufayl al-Sakuni
Hadith 16964
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْمُغِيرَةِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَرْطَاةُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ الْمُنْذِرِ ، حَدَّثَنَا ضَمْرَةُ بْنُ حَبِيبٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعَتُ سَلَمَةُ بْنُ نُفَيْلٍ السَّكُونِيُّ ، قَالَ : كُنَّا جُلُوسًا عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذْ قَالَ قَائِلٌ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، هَلْ أُتِيتَ بِطَعَامٍ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ ؟ قَالَ : " نَعَمْ " ، قَالَ : وَبِمَاذَا ؟ قَالَ : " بِمِسْخَنَةٍ " ، قَالُوا : فَهَلْ كَانَ فِيهَا فَضْلٌ عَنْكَ ؟ قَالَ : " نَعَمْ " ، قَالَ : فَمَا فُعِلَ بِهِ ؟ قَالَ : " رُفِعَ وَهُوَ يُوحَى إِلَيَّ أَنِّي مَكْفُوتٌ غَيْرُ لَابِثٍ فِيكُمْ ، وَلَسْتُمْ لَابِثِينَ بَعْدِي إِلَّا قَلِيلًا ، بَلْ تَلْبَثُونَ حَتَّى تَقُولُوا : مَتَى ، وَسَتَأْتُونَ أَفْنَادًا يُفْنِي بَعْضُكُمْ بَعْضًا ، وَبَيْنَ يَدَيْ السَّاعَةِ مُوتَانٌ شَدِيدٌ ، وَبَعْدَهُ سَنَوَاتُ الزَّلَازِلِ "
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Salamah bin Nufail (may Allah be pleased with him) that once we were sitting with the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) when someone asked: "O Messenger of Allah! Has food from the sky also come to you?" The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) replied: "Yes." He asked: "What was it?" The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Food prepared from flour." He asked: "Is any of it left?" The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) replied: "Yes!" He asked: "What happened to it?" He said: "It was taken up, and revelation has been sent to me that I am about to depart from you and will not remain among you for long. And after me, you too will remain for some time, rather you will remain so long that you will begin to say, 'When will death come?' Then such calamities will befall you that you will destroy one another yourselves, and before the Hour, a very severe series of deaths will begin, and after that, years of earthquakes will come."
Hadith 16965
حَدَّثَنَا الْحَكَمُ بْنُ نَافِعٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ سُلَيْمَانَ ، عَنِ الْوَلِيدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْجُرَشِيِّ ، عَنْ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ نُفَيْرٍ ، أَنَّ سَلَمَةَ بْنَ نُفَيْلٍ أَخْبَرَهُمْ ، أَنَّهُ أَتَى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : إِنِّي أَسَمْتُ الْخَيْلَ ، وَأَلْقَيْتُ السِّلَاحَ ، وَوَضَعَتْ الْحَرْبُ أَوْزَارَهَا ، قُلْتُ : لَا قِتَالَ ، فَقَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " الْآنَ جَاءَ الْقِتَالُ ، لَا تَزَالُ طَائِفَةٌ مِنْ أُمَّتِي ظَاهِرِينَ عَلَى النَّاسِ ، يُزِيغُ اللَّهُ قُلُوبَ أَقْوَامٍ ، فَيُقَاتِلُونَهُمْ ، وَيَرْزُقُهُمْ اللَّهُ مِنْهُمْ ، حَتَّى يَأْتِيَ أَمْرُ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ وَهُمْ عَلَى ذَلِكَ ، أَلَا إِنَّ عُقْرَ دَارِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ الشَّامُ ، وَالْخَيْلُ مَعْقُودٌ فِي نَوَاصِيهَا الْخَيْرُ إِلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ "
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Salamah bin Nufail (may Allah be pleased with him) that once he presented himself before the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and said: "I have sent my horse to graze, taken off my weapons, and there is a truce, so now there will be no fighting." The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Now is the time for fighting. A group from my Ummah will always prevail over the people. Allah will remove fear from the hearts of some people, and they will fight them, and Allah will provide them sustenance from there. Until when Allah's command comes, they will be in that state. Remember! The place where the blood of Muslims will be shed is Syria, and goodness and blessing have been placed in the forelocks of horses until the Day of Judgment."
