Hadith 16959
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Muslamah bin Makhlad (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever conceals the faults of a Muslim in this world, Allah Almighty will conceal his faults in this world and the Hereafter. Whoever relieves a distressed person, Allah Almighty will remove one of his distresses on the Day of Resurrection. And whoever is engaged in fulfilling his brother’s needs, Allah Almighty remains engaged in fulfilling his needs.
Hadith 16960
Makhool says that one day Sayyiduna Muslamah bin Makhlad (may Allah be pleased with him) was visited in Egypt by Sayyiduna Uqbah (may Allah be pleased with him). There was an argument between him and the doorkeeper when Sayyiduna Muslamah bin Makhlad (may Allah be pleased with him) heard their voices. He called Sayyiduna Uqbah (may Allah be pleased with him) inside. Sayyiduna Uqbah (may Allah be pleased with him) replied, "I have not come to meet you, but rather for a certain matter. Do you remember the day when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said that whoever knows of a fault in his brother and then conceals it, Allah Almighty will conceal his faults on the Day of Resurrection?" Sayyiduna Muslamah bin Makhlad (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "Yes, I remember." Sayyiduna Uqbah (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "I have come for the sake of this hadith."
