Hadith 16822
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْمُغِيرَةِ ، حَدَّثَنَا صَفْوَانُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ نُفَيْرٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ عَوْفِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ الْأَشْجَعِيِّ ، وَخَالِدِ بْنِ الْوَلِيدِ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " لَمْ يُخَمِّسْ السَّلَبَ "
It is narrated from Hazrat Awf bin Malik Ashja'i (may Allah be pleased with him) and Khalid bin Walid (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not take a fifth from the belongings of the slain.
Hadith 16823
حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْجُعْفِيُّ ، عَنْ زَائِدَةَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ ابْنِ عُمَيْرٍ ، قَالَ : اسْتَعْمَلَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ أَبَا عُبَيْدَةَ بْنَ الْجَرَّاحِ ، عَلَى الشَّامِ ، وَعَزَلَ خَالِدَ بْنَ الْوَلِيدِ ، قَالَ : فَقَالَ خَالِدُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ : بُعِثَ عَلَيْكُمْ أَمِينُ هَذِهِ الْأُمَّةِ ، سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : " أَمِينُ هَذِهِ الْأُمَّةِ أَبُو عُبَيْدةَ بْنُ الْجَرَّاحِ " قَالَ أَبُو عُبَيْدَةَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : " خَالِدٌ سَيْفٌ مِنْ سُيُوفِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ ، وَنِعْمَ فَتَى الْعَشِيرَةِ "
It is narrated from Abdul Malik bin Umair (may Allah have mercy on him) that when Hazrat Umar Farooq (may Allah be pleased with him) dismissed Hazrat Khalid bin Waleed (may Allah be pleased with him) in Syria and appointed Hazrat Abu Ubaidah bin Al-Jarrah (may Allah be pleased with him), Hazrat Khalid (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) has appointed the trustee of this Ummah over you. I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say: The trustee of this Ummah is Abu Ubaidah bin Al-Jarrah.
