Hadith 9996

قَرَأْتُ عَلَى عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ : مَالِكٌ , قََالَ : وَحَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاق ، قََالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا مَالِكٌ ، عَنِ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ ، عَنِ الْأَعْرَجِ ، عَنِ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " إِذَا اسْتَيْقَظَ أَحَدُكُمْ مِنْ نَوْمِهِ ، فَلْيَغْسِلْ يَدَهُ قَبْلَ أَنْ يُدْخِلَهَا فِي إِنَائِهِ ، فَإِنَّ أَحَدَكُمْ لَا يَدْرِي أَيْنَ بَاتَتْ يَدُهُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When any one of you wakes up from his sleep, he should not put his hand into a vessel until he has washed it, because he does not know where his hand spent the night.
