Hadith 9940

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ ، قََالَ : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، قََالَ : كَتَبَ إِلَيَّ مَنْصُورٌ , أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا عُثْمَانَ يُحَدِّثُ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الصَّادِقَ الْمَصْدُوقَ صَاحِبَ هَذِهِ الْحُجْرَةِ ، يَقُولُ : " لَا تُنْزَعُ الرَّحْمَةُ إِلَّا مِنْ شَقِيٍّ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that I heard the truthful and trusted, the owner of the chamber, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: "Mercy is drawn only towards the one who is himself wretched."
