Hadith 9933

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ ، قََالَ : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ , وَحَجَّاجٌ , قََالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ ، قََالَ : حَجَّاجٌ مِنَ النَّخْعِ ، قََالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبَا زُرْعَةَ , عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " تَسَمَّوْا بِاسْمِي ، وَلَا تَكَنَّوْا بِكُنْيَتِي " . " وَكَانَ يَكْرَهُ الشِّكَالَ مِنَ الْخَيْلِ " , قََالَ : حَجَّاجٌ يَعْنِي : إِحْدَى رِجْلَيْهِ سَوَادٌ , أَوْ بَيَاضٌ .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Name yourselves after me, but do not take my kunya (patronymic name) as your kunya." And the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) disliked a horse whose three legs were white and the fourth leg was of the same color as the rest of the body.
