Hadith 9916

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ بْنُ جَعَفْرٍ ، قََالَ : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، وَأَبُو دَاوُدَ , قََالَ : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ عَبَّاسٍ يَعْنِي الْجُرَيْرِيَّ ، قََالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عُثْمَانَ يُحَدِّثُ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قََالَ : " أَوْصَانِي خَلِيلِي بِثَلَاثٍ : الْوَتْرِ قَبْلَ النَّوْم ، وَرَكْعَتَيْ الضُّحَى ، وَصَوْمِ ثَلَاثَةِ أَيَّامٍ مِنْ كُلِّ شَهْرٍ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that my beloved friend (peace and blessings be upon him) advised me regarding three things, which I will not leave until my death: (1) to perform Witr prayer before sleeping, (2) to offer the Duha (forenoon) prayer, (3) to fast three days in every month.
