Hadith 9894

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ يَزِيدَ النَّخَعِيَّ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبَا زُرْعَةَ يُحَدِّثُ , عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " تَسَمَّوْا بِاسْمِي ، وَلَا تَكَنَّوْا بِكُنْيَتِي " .
It is narrated with the previous chain that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Name yourselves after my name, but do not take my kunya as your kunya.
