Hadith 9883

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ زِيَادٍ ، يَقُولُ : سَمِعْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ، يَقُولُ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " يَدْخُلُ الْجَنَّةَ مِنْ أُمَّتِي سَبْعُونَ أَلْفًا بِغَيْرِ حِسَابٍ " . قَالَ : فَقَالَ عُكَّاشَةُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، ادْعُ اللَّهَ أَنْ يَجْعَلَنِي مِنْهُمْ . قَالَ : فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم : " اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْهُ مِنْهُمْ " . قَالَ : فَقَامَ رَجُلٌ آخَرُ , فَقَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، ادْعُ اللَّهَ أَنْ يَجْعَلَنِي مِنْهُمْ . قَالَ : فَقَالَ : " سَبَقَكَ بِهَا عُكَّاشَةُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that I heard the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: Seventy thousand people from my Ummah will enter Paradise without reckoning. Hazrat Ukasha bin Mihsan (may Allah be pleased with him) stood up, lifting his sheet, and said, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), pray to Allah that He includes me among them." The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) prayed, "O Allah, include him among them." Then another man stood up and made the same request, but the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Ukasha has preceded you."
