Hadith 9872

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ . وَحَجَّاجٌ , قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ بْنِ مَرْثَدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي الرَّبِيعِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " أَرْبَعٌ فِي أُمَّتِي مِنْ أَمْرِ الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ لَنْ يَدَعُوهُنَّ : التَّطَاعُنُ فِي الْأَنْسَابِ ، وَالنِّيَاحَةُ ، وَمُطِرْنَا بِنَوْءِ كَذَا وَكَذَا ، وَالْعَدْوَى الرَّجُلُ يَشْتَرِي الْبَعِيرَ الْأَجْرَبَ ، فَيَجْعَلُهُ فِي مِائَةِ بَعِيرٍ فَتَجْرَبُ ، فَمَنْ أَعْدَى الْأَوَّلَ ؟ ! " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: There are four things from the time of ignorance which my Ummah will never abandon: finding fault with lineage, wailing over the dead, attributing rain to the stars, and considering disease to be contagious. If a camel gets scabies and it infects a hundred camels, then who infected the first camel with scabies?
