حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، وَحَجَّاجٌ , قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبَا الضَّحَّاكِ ، يُحَدِّثُ : عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ : " إِنَّ فِي الْجَنَّةِ شَجَرَةً يَسِيرُ الرَّاكِبُ فِي ظِلِّهَا سَبْعِينَ أَوْ مِائَةَ سَنَةٍ ، هِيَ شَجَرَةُ الْخُلْدِ " . قَالَ حَجَّاجٌ : " أَوْ مِائَةَ سَنَةٍ , شَجَرَةُ الْخُلْدِ " . قُلْتُ لِشُعْبَةَ : " هِيَ شَجَرَةُ الْخُلْدِ " ! . قَالَ : لَيْسَ فِيهَا " هِيَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: In Paradise, there is a tree under whose shade a rider can travel for seventy years or a little more than a year. That is the Tree of Eternity.
