Hadith 982

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ ، حَدَّثَنِي عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ الْقَوَارِيرِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ ، أَنْبَأَنَا أَيُّوبُ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنْ عَبِيدَةَ ، قَالَ : ذَكَرَ عَلِيٌّ أَهْلَ النَّهْرَوَانِ ، فَقَالَ : " فِيهِمْ رَجُلٌ مُودَنُ الْيَدِ ، أَوْ مَثْدُونُ الْيَدِ ، أَوْ مُخْدَجُ الْيَدِ ، لَوْلَا أَنْ تَبْطَرُوا لَنَبَّأْتُكُمْ بِمَا وَعَدَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ الَّذِينَ يَقْتُلُونَهُمْ عَلَى لِسَانِ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " ، قَالَ : قُلْتُ : أَأَنْتَ سَمِعْتَ مِنْهُ ؟ قَالَ : إِي وَرَبِّ الْكَعْبَةِ .
Once, the mention of the Khawarij was made in the presence of Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him), so he said: Among them there will be a man who is deformed in creation. If you had not gone to extremes, I would have told you the promise that Allah has made, through the tongue of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), to those who kill them. The narrator says: I asked him, "Did you really hear any statement from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in this regard?" He replied: Yes! By the Lord of the Ka'bah.
