Hadith 97

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا مُؤَمَّلٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا زِيَادُ بْنُ مِخْرَاقٍ ، عَنْ شَهْرٍ ، عَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي عُمَرُ : أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : " مَنْ مَاتَ يُؤْمِنُ بِاللَّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ ، قِيلَ لَهُ : ادْخُلْ الْجَنَّةَ مِنْ أَيِّ أَبْوَابِ الْجَنَّةِ الثَّمَانِيَةِ شِئْتَ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever dies in such a state that he believes in Allah and the Last Day, it will be said to him: Enter through whichever of the eight gates of Paradise you wish."
