Hadith 9558

حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ زِيَادٍ ، عَنْ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ، وَابْنُ جَعْفَرٍ , قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " إِذَا جَاءَ خَادِمُ أَحَدِكُمْ بِطَعَامِهِ فَلْيُجْلِسْهُ مَعَهُ ، فَإِنْ لَمْ يُجْلِسْهُ مَعَهُ ، فَلْيُنَاوِلْهُ أُكْلَةً أَوْ أُكْلَتَيْنِ ، أو لُقْمةَ أو لُقْمَتين وقال ابن جعفر : أَكْلة أَو أَكلتينِ ، فَإِنَّهُ وَلِيَ عِلَاجَهُ وَحَرَّهُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When a servant among you takes care of preparing food for you, then he should make him sit with him and feed him as well. If he cannot do so, then he should give him one or two morsels.
