Hadith 9552

حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنْ عَوْفٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا خِلَاسٌ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " مَثَلُ الَّذِي يَعُودُ فِي هِبَتِهِ ، مَثَلُ الْكَلْبِ إِذَا شَبِعَ قَاءَ ثُمَّ عَادَ فِي قَيْئِهِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The example of a person who gives a gift to someone and then takes it back is like that of a dog who eats until it is full, then vomits, and then starts eating its vomit again.
