Hadith 9500

حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ ابْنُ عُلَيَّةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا دَاوُدُ بْنُ أَبِي هِنْدٍ ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " نَهَى أَنْ تُنْكَحَ الْمَرْأَةُ عَلَى عَمَّتِهَا ، وَالْعَمَّةُ عَلَى بِنْتِ أَخِيهَا ، وَالْمَرْأَةُ عَلَى خَالَتِهَا ، وَالْخَالَةُ عَلَى بِنْتِ أُخْتِهَا ، لَا تُنْكَحُ الْكُبْرَى عَلَى الصُّغْرَى ، وَلَا الصُّغْرَى عَلَى الْكُبْرَى " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade marrying a niece in the presence of her paternal aunt, or a paternal aunt in the presence of her niece, or a maternal niece in the presence of her maternal aunt, or a maternal aunt in the presence of her niece. And he said: Do not marry the younger in the presence of the elder, nor the elder in the presence of the younger.
