حَدَّثَنَا حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ زَيْدٍ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " إِنَّ رَبَّكُمْ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ يَقُولُ : يَا ابْنَ آدَمَ , بِكُلِّ حَسَنَةٍ عَشْرُ حَسَنَاتٍ إِلَى سَبْعِ مِائَةِ ضِعْفٍ إِلَى أَضْعَافٍ كَثِيرَةٍ ، وَالصَّوْمُ لِي وَأَنَا أَجْزِي بِهِ ، وَالصَّوْمُ جُنَّةٌ مِنَ النَّارِ ، وَلَخُلُوفُ فَمِ الصَّائِمِ أَطْيَبُ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ مِنْ رِيحِ الْمِسْكِ ، فَإِنْ جَهِلَ عَلَى أَحَدِكُمْ جَاهِلٌ , وَهُوَ صَائِمٌ ، فَلْيَقُلْ : إِنِّي صَائِمٌ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Allah Almighty has said, "O son of Adam! The reward of every good deed is from ten to seven hundred times or even more, but fasting is especially for Me and I Myself will give its reward. Fasting is a shield for protection from Hell. The smell from the mouth of a fasting person is more pleasant to Allah than the fragrance of musk. And if someone behaves ignorantly with you while you are fasting, then say: I am fasting."
