Hadith 9354

حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ سِيرِينَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ ، وَعَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ ، أما أحدهما فألجأه إلى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، وَأَمَّا الْآخَرُ فَأَلْجَأَهُ إِلَى عُمَرَ ، قَالَ أَحَدُهُمَا : " نَهَى عَنِ الزِّقَاقِ ، وَالْمُزَفَّتِ ، وَعَنِ الدُّبَّاءِ ، وَالْحَنْتَمِ " ، وَقَالَ الْآخَرُ : " نَهَى عَنِ الزِّقَاقِ ، وَالْمُزَفَّتِ ، وَعَنِ الدُّبَّاءِ ، وَالْجَرِّ أَوْ الْفَخَّارِ " ، شَكَّ مُحَمَّدٌ .
Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) and Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him)—one of whom attributed this to the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) and the other to Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him)—that they forbade the use of pitchers, pitch-covered gourds, and Hantham for drinks.
