حَدَّثَنَا حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا سُهَيْلٌ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ إِذَا أَحَبَّ عَبْدًا دَعَا جِبْرِيلَ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَام ، فَقَالَ : يَا جِبْرِيلُ ، إِنِّي أُحِبُّ فُلَانًا فَأَحِبَّهُ . قَالَ : فَيُحِبُّهُ جِبْرِيلُ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَام ، قَالَ : ثُمَّ يُنَادِي فِي أَهْلِ السَّمَاءِ : إِنَّ اللَّهَ يُحِبُّ فُلَانًا ، قَالَ : فَيُحِبُّهُ أَهْلُ السَّمَاءِ ، ثُمَّ يُوضَعُ لَهُ الْقَبُولُ فِي الْأَرْضِ . وَإِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ إِذَا أَبْغَضَ عَبْدًا ، دَعَا جِبْرِيلَ ، فَقَالَ : يَا جِبْرِيلُ ، إِنِّي أُبْغِضُ فُلَانًا ، فَأَبْغِضْهُ . قَالَ : فَيُبْغِضُهُ جِبْرِيلُ ، ثُمَّ يُنَادِي فِي أَهْلِ السَّمَاءِ إِنَّ اللَّهَ يُبْغِضُ فُلَانًا فَأَبْغِضُوهُ ، قَالَ : فَيُبْغِضُهُ أَهْلُ السَّمَاءِ ، ثُمَّ تُوضَعُ لَهُ الْبَغْضَاءُ فِي الْأَرْضِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When Allah loves a servant, He says to Jibreel (peace be upon him): "I love such-and-such servant, so you also love him." Thus, Jibreel begins to love him. Then Jibreel (peace be upon him) announces to the inhabitants of the heavens: "Your Lord loves such-and-such person, so you also love him." Consequently, all the inhabitants of the heavens begin to love him, and then acceptance for him is placed among the people of the earth. And when Allah dislikes a servant, He also calls Jibreel (peace be upon him) and says: "O Jibreel! I dislike such-and-such servant, so you also dislike him." And Jibreel (peace be upon him) announces to the inhabitants of the heavens: "Your Lord dislikes such-and-such person, so you also dislike him." Thus, all the inhabitants of the heavens begin to dislike him, and then this dislike is placed in the hearts of the people of the earth.
