Hadith 9348

حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، قَالَ : رَأَيْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ قَرَأَ : إِذَا السَّمَاءُ انْشَقَّتْ ، فَسَجَدَ ، قُلْتُ : لِمَ أَرَاكَ سَجَدْتَ فِيهَا ؟ . قَالَ : " لَوْ لَمْ أَرَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَسْجُدُ فِيهَا مَا سَجَدْتُ " .
Abu Salamah says that once he saw Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) recite Surah Inshiqaq, and upon reaching the verse of prostration, he performed the prostration of recitation. I said, "I have not seen you perform prostration in this Surah before?" He replied, "If I had not seen the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) perform prostration in it, I would not have performed it either."
