Hadith 9347

حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبَانُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ ، عَنِ النَّضْرِ بْنِ أَنَسٍ ، عَنْ بَشِيرِ بْنِ نَهِيكٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " إِذَا أَفْلَسَ الرَّجُلُ ، فَالْغَرِيمُ أَحَقُّ بِمَتَاعِهِ إِذَا وَجَدَهُ بِعَيْنِهِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: If a man has been declared bankrupt and someone finds his own property with him in its original form, then he has a greater right to that property than others.
