Hadith 9336

حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، عَنِ الْعَلَاءِ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم : " إِذَا سَمِعَ الشَّيْطَانُ الْأَذَانَ ، وَلَّى وَلَهُ ضُرَاطٌ حَتَّى لَا يَسْمَعَ الصَّوْتَ " .
It is narrated with the previous chain that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: When Satan hears the call to prayer (adhan), he runs away loudly passing wind so that he does not hear the adhan.
