حَدَّثَنَا
عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا
شُعْبَةُ ، قَالَ :
دَاوُدُ بْنُ فَرَاهِيجَ أَخْبَرَنِي قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ
أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ، يَقُولُ :
" مَا كَانَ لَنَا طَعَامٌ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، إِلَّا الْأَسْوَدَانِ : التَّمْرُ , وَالْمَاءُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that during the blessed era of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), we had nothing to eat except two black things: dates and water.
