حَدَّثَنَا
سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا
إِسْمَاعِيلُ ، َقالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي
الْعَلَاءُ ، عَنْ
أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ
أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ :
" لَوْ يَعْلَمُ الْمُؤْمِنُ مَا عِنْدَ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ مِنَ الْعُقُوبَةِ ، مَا طَمِعَ بِجَنَّتِهِ أَحَدٌ ، وَلَوْ يَعْلَمُ الْكَافِرُ مَا عِنْدَ اللَّهِ مِنَ الرَّحْمَةِ ، مَا قَنَطَ مِنْ رَحْمَتِهِ أَحَدٌ " .
It is narrated with the same chain that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: If a believing servant were to know the punishments that Allah has prepared, then no one would desire Paradise (they would only keep praying to be saved from Hell); and if a disbeliever were to realize the extent of Allah’s mercy, then no one would despair of Paradise.
