حَدَّثَنَا
هَوْذَةُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا
عَوْفٌ ، عَنْ
خِلَاسٍ ، عَنْ
أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ :
" وَاللَّهِ لَأَنْ يَأْخُذَ أَحَدُكُمْ حَبْلًا ، فَيَنْطَلِقَ إِلَى هَذَا الْجَبَلِ ، فَيَحْتَطِبَ مِنَ الْحَطَبِ وَيَبِيعَهُ ، وَيَسْتَغْنِيَ بِهِ عَنِ النَّاسِ ، خَيْرٌ لَهُ مِنْ أَنْ يَسْأَلَ النَّاسَ أَعْطَوْهُ ، أَوْ حَرَمُوهُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: By Allah, it is much better that one of you takes a rope, goes to the mountains, cuts wood, sells it, and through this becomes independent of people, rather than going to people and asking them (for something), whether they give him something or not, as per their wish.
