Hadith 9063

حَدَّثَنَا أَسْوَدُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، قَالَ : " أَتَى جِبْرِيلُ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَام النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , فقَالَ : إِنِّي جِئْتُ الْبَارِحَةَ ، فَلَمْ يَمْنَعْنِي أَنْ أَدْخُلَ عَلَيْكَ إِلَّا أَنَّهُ كَانَ فِي الْبَيْتِ صُورَةٌ أَوْ كَلْب " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that once Hazrat Jibreel (peace be upon him) came to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: I came to you last night, but something prevented me from entering your house; there was either a picture of a man in the house or a dog.
