Hadith 8825

حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حَفْصٍ ، قَالَ : أَنْبَأَنَا وَرْقَاءُ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ ، عَنِ الْأَعْرَجِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَلَا تَعْجَبُونَ كَيْفَ يُصْرَفُ عَنِّي شَتْمُ قُرَيْشٍ ، يَشْتِمُونَ مُذَمَّمًا وَأَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ ، وَيَلْعَنُونَ مُذَمَّمًا وَأَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Are you not amazed at how, in such a strange way, the abuses of the Quraysh are kept away from me? They curse and revile a certain 'Mudhammam', while my name is Muhammad (not Mudhammam)."
