Hadith 8820

حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي حَفْصَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا الزُّهْرِيُّ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سَمِعَ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ قَيْسٍ ، يَقْرَأُ ، فَقَالَ : " لَقَدْ أُعْطِيَ هَذَا مِنْ مَزَامِيرِ آلِ دَاوُدَ النَّبِيِّ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَام " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) heard Hazrat Abu Musa Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him) reciting (the Qur'an), so he said: "Abu Musa Ash'ari has been given a voice like that of Hazrat Dawud (peace be upon him)."
