Hadith 8815

حَدَّثَنَا هَيْثَمٌ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا حَفْصُ بْنُ مَيْسَرَةَ ، عَنِ الْعَلَاءِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " كُلُّ إِنْسَانٍ تَلِدُهُ أُمُّهُ يَلْكُزُهُ الشَّيْطَانُ بِحِضْنَيْهِ ، إِلَّا مَا كَانَ مِنْ مَرْيَمَ وَابْنِهَا ، أَلَمْ تَرَوْا إِلَى الصَّبِيِّ حِينَ يَسْقُطُ كَيْفَ يَصْرُخُ ؟ " قَالُوا : بَلَى يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ , قَالَ : " فَذَاكَ حِينَ يَلْكُزُهُ الشَّيْطَانُ بِحِضْنَيْهِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Every newborn child is pricked by Satan, except for Jesus (peace be upon him) and his mother Mary (peace be upon her); this did not happen to them. Do you not see that when a child is born, he cries in some way? The companions (may Allah be pleased with them) submitted, "Why not, O Messenger of Allah!" The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: This is because Satan pricks him.
