Hadith 878

(حديث موقوف) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ ، حَدَّثَنَا وَهْبُ بْنُ بَقِيَّةَ الْوَاسِطِيُّ ، أخبرنا خَالِدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ بَيَانٍ ، عَنْ عَامِرٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي جُحَيْفَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ : " أَلَا أُخْبِرُكُمْ بِخَيْرِ هَذِهِ الْأُمَّةِ بَعْدَ نَبِيِّهَا ؟ أَبُو بَكْرٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، ثُمَّ عُمَرُ ، ثُمَّ رَجُلٌ آخَرُ " .
It is narrated from Abu Juhaifa that on one occasion, Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Shall I not tell you who is the best person in this Ummah after the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)? He is Sayyiduna Abu Bakr as-Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him), then Sayyiduna Umar al-Faruq (may Allah be pleased with him), then there is another man.
