Hadith 8766

حَدَّثَنَا سُرَيْجُ بْنُ النُّعْمَانِ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ مَنْصُورِ بْنِ أُذَيْنٍ ، عَنْ مَكْحُولٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَا يُؤْمِنُ الْعَبْدُ الْإِيمَانَ كُلَّهُ ، حَتَّى يَتْرُكَ الْكَذِبَ فِي الْمُزَاح ، وَالْمِرَاءَ وَإِنْ كَانَ صَادِقًا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: No person can be a complete believer until he gives up lying even in jest, and abandons quarrelling even when he is truthful.
