(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبِيدَةُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي يَزِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي زِيَادٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ : كُنْتُ رَجُلًا مَذَّاءً ، فَسَأَلْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، أَوْ سُئِلَ عَنْ ذَلِكَ ، فَقَالَ : " فِي الْمَذْيِ الْوُضُوءُ ، وَفِي الْمَنِيِّ الْغُسْلُ " .
Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said that I suffered from excessive discharge of madhiy. I asked the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) about its ruling, so he said: "For madhiy, only wudu is obligatory, and in the case of the discharge of maniy, ghusl becomes obligatory."
