Hadith 8673

حَدَّثَنَا أَسْوَدُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَابِقٍ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ ، عَنْ أَبِي حَصِينٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَنَا أَوْلَى النَّاسِ بِأَنْفُسِهِمْ ، مَنْ تَرَكَ مَالًا فَلِمَوَالِي عَصَبَتِهِ ، وَمَنْ تَرَكَ ضِيَاعًا أَوْ كَلًّا ، فَأَنَا وَلِيُّهُ فَلَا دَاعِيَ لَهُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I have more right over the believers than their own selves, so whoever leaves behind a debt or children, it is my responsibility, and whoever leaves behind wealth, it is for his heirs.
