حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ ، عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ : " أَعْفُوا اللِّحَى ، وَخُذُوا الشَّوَارِبَ ، وَغَيِّرُوا شَيْبَكُمْ ، وَلَا تَشَبَّهُوا بِالْيَهُودِ وَالنَّصَارَى " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Trim your moustaches well and let your beards grow fully, and change the white color of your hair, but do not imitate the Jews and Christians.
