Hadith 8666

حَدَّثَنَا أَسْوَدُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَرَّ بِجِدَارٍ أَوْ حَائِطٍ مَائِلٍ ، فَأَسْرَعَ الْمَشْيَ ، فَقِيلَ لَهُ ، فَقَالَ : " إِنِّي أَكْرَهُ مَوْتَ الْفَوَاتِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by a wall that had leaned and was about to fall. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) quickened his pace. Someone asked the reason, so he said: I do not wish to die an unexpected death.
