Hadith 8659

حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ ، عَنْ سُهَيْلِ بْنِ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّه صلى الََََََََََّلهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَِ : " مَنْ قَتَلَ الْوَزَغَ فِي الضَّرْبَةِ الْأُولَى ، فَلَهُ كَذَا وَكَذَا مِن حَسَنَةً ، وَمَنْ قَتَلَهُ فِي الثَّانِيَةِ ، فَلَهُ كَذَا وَكَذا حَسَنَةً ، وَمَنْ قَتَلَهُ فِي الثَّالِثَةِ ، فَلَهُ كَذَا وَكَذَا " ، قَالَ سُهَيْلٌ : الْأُولَى أَكْثَر .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Whoever kills a lizard with the first strike will receive such and such rewards; whoever kills it with the second strike will receive such and such rewards; and whoever kills it with the third strike will receive such and such rewards. Suhail says that the number of rewards for the first time will be greater each time.
