Hadith 8638

حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ أَبِي رَبَاحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ : " مَنْ سُئِلَ عَنْ عِلْمٍ فَكَتَمَهُ ، أَلْجَمَهُ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ بِلِجَامٍ مِنْ نَارٍ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: If a person is asked about any matter of knowledge and he conceals it without reason, then on the Day of Resurrection a bridle of fire will be put in his mouth.
