Hadith 8567

حَدَّثَنَا بَهْزٌ ، وَعَفَّانُ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ ، قَالَ لِي سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ يَسَارٍ : مَا تَقُولُ فِي الْعُمْرَى ؟ قُلْتُ : حَدَّثَنَا النَّضْرُ بْنُ أَنَسٍ ، عَنْ بَشِيرِ بْنِ نَهِيكٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ : " الْعُمْرَى جَائِزَةٌ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: It is valid to dedicate something as a waqf (endowment) for a lifetime.
