Hadith 8512

حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو ، عَنْ صَفْوَانَ يَعْنِي ابْنَ سُلَيْمٍ ، عَنِ الْقَعْقَاعِ بْنِ اللَّجْلَاجِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، وَسُهَيْلٍ ، عن صفوان بن سليم عَنِ الْقَعْقَاعِ بْنِ اللَّجْلَاجِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ : " لَا يَجْتَمِعُ شُحٌّ وَإِيمَانٌ فِي قَلْبِ رَجُلٍ ، وَلَا يَجْتَمِعُ غُبَارٌ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ وَدُخَانُ جَهَنَّمَ فِي وَجْهِ عَبْدٍ " ، قَالَ حَمَّادٌ : وَقَالَ أَحَدُهُمَا : الْقَعْقَاعُ بْنُ اللَّجْلَاجِ ، وَقَالَ الْآخَرُ : اللَّجْلَاجُ بْنُ الْقَعْقَاعِ .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Faith and miserliness cannot coexist in the heart of a Muslim, just as the dust from striving in the way of Allah and the smoke of Hell cannot coexist in the nostrils of a Muslim.
