Hadith 8511

حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ سُهَيْلِ بْنِ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ : " إِنَّ السَّنَةَ لَيْسَ بِأَنْ لَا يَكُونَ فِيهَا مَطَرٌ ، وَلَكِنَّ السَّنَةَ أَنْ تُمْطِرَ السَّمَاءُ وَلَا تُنْبِتَ الْأَرْضُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Famine is not that there is no rainfall; famine is that rain falls abundantly from the sky but nothing grows from the earth.
