Hadith 8483

حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ ، حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثٌ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ الْعَجْلَانَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ : سُئِلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَيُّ النَّاسِ خَيْرٌ ؟ فَقَالَ : " أَنَا وَالَّذِينَ مَعِي ، ثُمَّ الَّذِينَ عَلَى الْأَثَرِ ، ثُمَّ الَّذِينَ عَلَى الْأَثَرِ " ثُمَّ كَأَنَّهُ رَفَضَ مَنْ بَقِيَ .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that once someone asked the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), who is the best of people?" The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied, "I and my companions, then those who will come after us, then those who will come after them." After that, the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) stopped.
