Hadith 8475

حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ ، حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثٌ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ يعنى ابن الهاد ، عَنْ عَمْرٍو بْنِ قُهَيْدِ بْنِ مُطَرِّفٍ الْغِفَارِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، قَالَ : جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، أَرَأَيْتَ إِنْ عُدِيَ عَلَى مَالِي ؟ قَالَ : " فانْشُدْ اللَّهَ " ، قَالَ : فَإِنْ أَبَوْا عَلَيَّ ؟ قَالَ : " انْشُدْ اللَّهَ " ، قَالَ : فَإِنْ أَبَوْا عَلَيَّ ؟ قَالَ : " فَانْشُدْ اللَّهَ " ، قَالَ : فَإِنْ أَبَوْا عَلَيَّ ؟ قَالَ : " فَقَاتِلْ ، فَإِنْ قُتِلْتَ فَفِي الْجَنَّةِ ، وَإِنْ قَتَلْتَ فَفِي النَّارِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man came to the service of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), tell me, if someone tries to seize my wealth, what should I do?" The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Ask him by Allah (to desist)." He asked, "If he does not accept?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Then ask him by Allah again." The fourth time, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Then fight him. If you are killed, you will go to Paradise, and if you kill him, he will go to Hell."
