Hadith 8472

حَدَّثَنَا فَزَارَةُ ، أَخْبَرَنَا فُلَيْحٌ ، وَسُرَيْجٌ , قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا فُلَيْحٌ ، عَنْ هِلَالِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " الشَّيْخُ يَكْبَرُ وَيَضْعُفُ جِسْمُهُ ، وَقَلْبُهُ شَابٌّ عَلَى حُبِّ اثْنَتَيْنِ طُولِ الْحَيَاةِ ، وَحُبِّ الْمَالِ " ، َقَالَ سُرَيْجٌ : " حُبِّ الْحَيَاةِ ، وَحُبِّ الْمَالِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: As a person grows old, his body becomes weak, but two things in him remain youthful: the love for a long life and the abundance of wealth and property.
