Hadith 8456

حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ ، ثَنَا فُلَيْحٌ ، عَنْ هِلَالِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ : " إِنَّ الشَّيْخَ " قَالَ يُونُسُ : أَظُنُّهُ قَالَ : " يَهْرَمُ وَيَضْعُفُ جِسْمُهُ ، وَقَلْبُهُ شَابٌّ عَلَى حُبِّ اثْنَيْنِ : طُولِ الْحَيَاةِ ، وَحُبِّ الْمَالِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: As a person grows old, his body becomes weak, but two things in him remain youthful: the love for a long life and the abundance of wealth and property.
