Hadith 8445

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ ، حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : " وَاللَّهِ ، إِنِّي لَأَقْرَبُكُمْ صَلَاةً بِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ ، وَكَانَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ يَقْنُتُ فِي الرَّكْعَةِ الْآخِرَةِ مِنْ صَلَاةِ الْعِشَاءِ الْآخِرَةِ ، وَصَلَاةِ الصُّبْحِ ، بَعْدَمَا يَقُولُ : سَمِعَ اللَّهُ لِمَنْ حَمِدَهُ ، فَيَدْعُو لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَيَلْعَنُ الْكافرين " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that, by Allah! In prayer, I am the closest among all of you to the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). Abu Salamah says that Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) used to recite Qunoot Nazilah after saying "Sami' Allahu liman Hamidah" in the last rak'ah of the Isha and Fajr prayers, in which he would supplicate for the Muslims and invoke curses upon the disbelievers.
